Playa de Palma is a superb 6km beach just east of Palma de Mallorca and a minutes from the international airport. Sandwiched neatly between Can Pastilla in the West and El Arenal in the east, it is now impossible to determine where one resort ends and the other begins. The three resorts are joined by a wide pedestrian promenade which is completely flat and ideal for people with limited mobility, or families with young children. If you dont fancy the walk between the resorts the Mini Train that runs along the promenade is a convenient way to get around.
Perfect beach
The beach at Playa de Palma shelves gently to the sea and has recently been given blue flag status for its facilities, cleanliness and excellent water quality. Along the coastline are 15 or so "Balnearios" – small beach huts which usually have toilets, showers and a kiosk – which make useful navigation aids. The majority of visitors to Playa de Palma are German, resulting in a high concentration of German bars and restaurants, although there are some British bars about.
