The twin resorts of Palmanova and Magaluf are the party capital for the Brits and Irish in Majorca. Although technically the dividing point between Palmanova and Magaluf is still somewhere on the rocky headland between the two beaches, the two resorts have over the years, grown to the point where they now effectively merge into one. Of the two resorts Palmanova is the quieter, and perhaps more suited to families.
A hedonistic mix
The hundreds of bars and discos, plus plenty of affordable accommodation and restaurants make this part of Majorca a favourite for young people looking for a hedonistic mix of drink, nightlife, party, sun and beach. Both Magaluf and Palmanova have fine sandy beaches and plenty of activities to keep you busy during the daytime - jet skiing, go-karting, boat trips, and countless shops along wide traffic free promenades.
Winter Chill
Outside of the summer months the area does have something of a personality change as the 18 to 30s leave the island to be replaced largely by a quieter crowd looking to take long winter breaks in the Majorcan sunshine. Although many of the cafes and restaurants remain open, many of the livelier bars and discos are closed during the week, opening at weekends for the stag and hen parties that invade the town.
