Back in the 50s, Torremolinos (Towermills, literally) was a sleepy fishing village with a few houses, a couple of sea food restaurants and a long golden coast. Now it is one of the leading resorts in the Med with a huge selection of restaurants, bars and attractions. The beaches in Torremolinos are some of the cleanest and best maintained in the whole of Spain and this despite is being one of the most popular destinations, especially for the British and Irish.

And it is not all bars and discos, as a legacy of its maritime past, Torremolinos boasts some truly excellent seafood restaurants along its long “Paseo Maritimo” and chiringuitos (‘cheering-gee-toss’), bar/restaurants on the beach itself offer a bit of refreshment and shade during the day before turning into lively bars or restaurants in the evening.
