| Prague |
Since the fall of the iron curtain Prague has become one of the most visited cities in Europe, and with good reason. Prague is a tourist paradise. From the pedestrianised Staré Mêsto with its blackened Gothic churches, pubs and townhouses to the bars and discos offering a buzzing nightlife into the early hours, this city has a vibrancy all of its own. |
Prague suffered comparatively little damage during WWII, allowing most of its historic architecture to stay true to form. It contains one of the most pristine and varied collections of architecture in the world, from Art Nouveau to Baroque, Renaissance, Cubist, Gothic, Neo-Classical and ultra-modern. The city is also a cultural centre, with hundreds of concert halls, galleries, cinemas and music clubs; film festivals, music festivals and fashion shows. |
