Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands, and enjoys the year-round sunshine, mild climate and stunning beaches that make the Canaries so popular with holidaymakers.
Puerto del Carmen is the busiest resort offering activities to suit all ages and nationalities. The twin resorts of Los Pocillos and Matagorda are very much offsprings of Puerto del Carmen and perfect for a relaxing break with proximity to the bustling activity of the busier resort. Also very popular are Playa Blanca, in the south, and Costa Teguise in the north east, which has the island’s only golf course and a large water park. The marina of Puerto Calero is one of the more exclusive neighbourhoods, its many luxury hotels making it a popular resort despite not having a beach. The capital, Arrecife, is a bustling, friendly city with plenty of sights and shopping to keep tourists entertained. |
