Fuengirola is not so much a tourist resort as a tourist town and combines the amenities of a town with the splendid beaches, bars and restaurants of a resort. With a long seaside promenade and a long line of beaches, this has long been a holiday haven for British and Irish holidaymakers. Although it caters well for all age groups, it is particularly popular with families and middle-aged couples looking to rekindle a flame or two. That said, being the largest of the resorts on the Costa it have a fine summer nightlife and has a particular buzz in August when the centre fills up in the evenings with smartly dressed youths and oldies alike.
