The seaside resort, downhill from its original (and quite charming) namesake, is about 10 miles East of Malaga abutting the famous resort of Torremolinos. Considered by many of being a classier option Benalmadena is famous for its windmill roundabout – a landmark on its long “Paseo Maritimo” consisting of a ship made up of small windmills. Suffice to say, if you ever ask for directions it is bound to get a mention.
Mooring
Benalmadena resort boasts an impressive marina, from which you can stroll along past the beachfront promenades, countless restaurants and array of bars, catering to every taste. A nice place to moor your yacht too… although for those of us that are still saving up for our first yacht, Easyjet (and their like) all fly into Malaga which means getting here is likely to be cheaper, quicker and easier than a train ride in the UK. Tivoli World
The top quality amusement park, Tivoli World, in the nearby Arroyo de Miel (lit: “Honey Brook”) and easily accessible from Benalmadena. With dolphin attractions, Wild West theme shows and rides galore, there is plenty to tire the little ones out so Mum and Dad get a break in the evening.
